The Peace Corps is dedicated to extending the global experiences of it's volunteers to students in the US (unofficially, I'd LOVE to communicate with schools from other countries). The Peace Corps' program, Coverdell World Wise helps us bring my experiences in Malawi to your students. Both my parents are educators and I strongly believe in the benefits of international exposure in the classroom. If you are interested in having your class communicate with me, let me know (contact info under the "Talk to me!" page) and I will provide regular communication with your class. Please be aware that my internet access will be extremely limited, so responses may take a few weeks. If you'd prefer, I'm happy to communicate via snail mail instead (that might be a safer bet).
I am already paired with a 4th grade class at Mt. Stuart Elementary School in Ellensburg, WA (my hometown), but I would love to write to your class as well!
If you are interested but can't do it this year, you can apply through the link above (Coverdell World Wise) and the Peace Corps will match you up with another volunteer. You can also request specific volunteers if you know someone who's a PCV.
